While you may not recollect the film Fareb, you will surely remember the film's famous song Yeh Teri Aankhen Jhuki Jhuki, featuring Suman Ranganathan, Milind Gunaji and Faraaz Khan.

Suman Ranganathan, however, caught everyone's attention in 1999, when she played the sensuous Loveleen in Aa Ab Laut Chalen. She stunned everyone with her bold avatar, especially when she sizzled in the songs Pyar Hua Pyar Hua and Yehi Hai Pyar opposite Akshaye Khanna in Aa Ab Laut Chalen.

Suman Ranganathan's alleged relationship with Rahul Roy also made headlines. They say the actress (then a starlet) was apparently living in with Rahul Roy and were even going to get married. However, things didn't work out and their relationship ended soon.

Suman Ranganathan's love life kept her in the news more than her films, though. After having a brief affair with businessman Uru Patel, she married model Gautam Kapoor. Unfortunately, the marriage ended too soon.

Amid personal life turmoil, Suman Ranganathan kept herself busy with social service. Be it lending bed-sheets to the poor in winter, or giving food to the hungry and money to the needy, nothing stopped Suman from doing social service.

In 2006, Suman Ranganathan got married to producer Bunty Walia. However, the couple parted ways within a year.

On the work front, Suman Ranganathan also starred in Kannada, Bengali, Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu films and tasted success in the South film industry.

In 1990, Suman Ranganath made her acting debut with Kannada film Santha Shishunala Sharifa, in which she played the wife of Shareefa played by Sridhar. In picture: Suman with Ronit Roy

Suman went on to star in Kannada films like C.B.I. Shankar, Nammoora Hammera, Budhivanta, Sidlingu and Neer Dose.

One of the famous Tamil films that Suman Ranganathan was part of were Maanagara Kaaval and Arrambam. In picture: Suman Ranganathan with Koena Mitra.

Suman won Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress - Kannada for Savaari, Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress - Kannada for Sidlingu, and SIIMA Award for Best Actor In A Supporting Role Female - Kannada for Neer Dose.

Suman Ranganathan was part of Bollywood films such as Shah Rukh Khan and Madhuri Dixit's Hum Tumhare Hain Sanam, Manisha Koirala's Market, Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini's Baghban and Suniel Shetty's Aaghaz.

On June 3, 2019, Suman Ranganathan got married to a Bengaluru-based businessman, Sajan Chinnappa.

Suman was last seen in the film Dandupalyam 4, starring Mumaith Khan, Benerjee, Venkat and Sanjeev Kumar and Kannada film Kavaludaari, starring Rishi, Anant Nag and Achyuth Kumar.

Here's wishing Suman Ranganathan a very happy birthday!
