Born in 1956, Suneil Anand was the son of Dev Anand and Kalpana Kartik. He was born in Zurich, Switzerland, while his parents were on their way to attend the Karlovy Vary Film Festival.

He has a sister named Devina Anand. He is survived by his mother and sister.

Suneil obtained a degree in Business Administration from American University, Washington, D.C.

Interestingly, Suneil had trained in Wing Tsun in Hong Kong.

He made his acting debut in Anand aur Anand (1984), which was directed by his father Dev Anand, who also starred in the film.

Later, he appeared in other films like Car Thief (1986), Main Tere Liye (1988).

He later made his directorial debut with Master, a martial arts film, which was released in 2001. 

After an unsuccessful acting career, Suneil took on his father's production company, Navketan Films.

In 2012, he announced a Hollywood film, Vagator Mixer, directed by and starring himself. However, the film never saw the light of day due to legal disputes between co-producers. 

Suneil died in July 2026 at teh age of 70 after suffering a heart attack. A report by Film Information claimed that the actor died in the same hospital as his father.
