After the infamous mic snatching episode at the MTV awards, rapper Kanye West has taken aim at country sweetheart Taylor Swift again. The rapper and music producer launched into yet another rant, airing his public grievances with the 'Love Story' hitmaker and 'Today Show' host Matt Lauer.
The 33-year-old let loose during an impromptu performance at the Bowery Ballroom in New York where West was promoting his new album, reported New York Post online. "Taylor never came to my defence at any interview. And rode the waves and rode it and rode it," he claimed suggesting that Swift used the now infamous stage storming incident at the 2009 VMA's to bolster her fame.
West had previously apologised for his actions at the awards ceremony where he interrupted the 20-year-old's acceptance speech for Best Female Video to proclaim that the award should have been given to his friend Beyonce. But clearly Kanye's apology was less than heartfelt after this current public outburst. Swift, however, was not the only target of West's public outburst.
He also slammed Today Show host Matt Lauer with whom he had an on air dispute during a recent live interview. West and Lauer were discussing President George Bush and how West had branded him a racist over his handling of the Katrina disaster. Bush had said that West's comment was the 'lowest point' of his presidency.
West later became enraged when during the discussion, the Today show played a clip of his Taylor Swift stage storming incident. "Because of the popularity of me, they exploited that. That's not what he said," West ranted to the crowd at last night's concert. "That's not what he said! He said it was one of his lowest moments. But it shows you the way they try to villainize, the way they tried to do that," he said
