Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are officially married after exchanging vows at their Madison Square Garden wedding on Friday. To mark the pop singer's wedding, the iconic Empire State Building, a nearby New York City landmark, was also seen lighting up to celebrate the occasion.
The Empire State Building lit up after the power couple tied the knot as part of a multi-day Madison Square Garden wedding celebration. The wedding celebrations reportedly stretched from Thursday night into Saturday morning. Leading up to their big day, Manhattan's popular skyscraper shared the occasion on its website, saying the light blue sparkle glow-up was "in celebration of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding at Madison Square Garden."
They also posted an aerial video on X and wrote, "Her something blue," referring to the traditional wedding rhyme "something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue."
With that, the iconic landmark of the Empire State Building and its Art Deco façade continued its tradition of lighting its spire to mark major occasions in the city. On July 4, the spire and its LED lighting system are all set to glow red, white and blue to mark the 4th of July celebrations.
The news of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce getting married was confirmed by the singer's representative to People magazine. According to her representative, actor Adam Sandler, who is also a close friend of the couple, officiated the wedding ceremony.
The representative further shared details of the wedding, saying, "The bride and groom's wedding ceremony looks have been created by Christian Dior Haute Couture. They are designed by Jonathan Anderson, Creative Director of Dior Women's, Men's and Haute Couture Collections, in close collaboration with the Bride and Groom. This is the designer's first couture wedding dress for a world-renowned celebrity. Their shoes were custom-made by Christian Louboutin, and the bride wore Cartier jewellery."
After Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce exchanged their vows, the jumbotrons outside Madison Square Garden flashed the news of the wedding. "JUST&T MARRIED!," the boards read.
