On Monday morning, the world woke to the devastating news that American filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer, had been found dead at their Los Angeles home. Their son, Nick Reiner, was one of the suspects in their suspected murder, and reports indicate that he has since been detained.
Page Six was the first to disclose Nick's arrest. According to TMZ, he is now being held by the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department on a bail of USD 4 million. Nick was reportedly arrested on Sunday night.
There have been reports of Nick's arrest, but there is no confirmation.
According to reports, Rob and his wife were found dead in their house after being stabbed. The family's statement stated, "It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner." We are grieved by this abrupt death, and we need privacy during this extremely difficult time."
Rob Reiner was one of Hollywood's most prominent filmmakers. This Is Spinal Tap, released in 1984, marked the beginning of his career. He later directed other blockbuster pictures, including When Harry Met Sally, Misery, A Few Good Men, The American President, and others.
His most recent film, Spinal Tap II: The End Continues, was released in September of this year.
In 1971, he married actress Penny Marshall, but the couple separated in 1981. Later, in 1989, he married Michele Singer and had three children: two sons, Jack and Nick, and a daughter, Romy.
While stories of Nick's arrest circulate, the reason for his suspected murder of parents has yet to be discovered.
Following the probable killings of Reiner, 78, and his 68-year-old wife, Michele, who were discovered dead at their Brentwood home on Sunday, Trump rushed to social media to describe the director as "tortured and struggling". He additionally stated that Reiner passed away "due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind-crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME" .
Trump then shifted his focus to promoting his own successes, claiming that Reiner's supposed "raging obsession" and "obvious paranoia" against him contrasted with his administration. Trump claimed to have "surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness ⦠with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before".
