Bollywood actor Ishaan Khatter became the latest addition to the Jury Panel at the Biarritz Film Festival. The actor will be joining the previously announced jury members, which include the names of Kristen Stewart, Whitney Peak and Raphael Quenard, among others, according to a press release.
The festival will start on June 23 and conclude on June 28. It is a prominent European cinema event in Southwestern France dedicated entirely to youth, emerging talent, and the future of global storytelling. Other members joining the jury are French filmmaker Nathan Ambrosioni, French actress Suzy Bemba, Italian director Carolina Cavalli, and British actor Esme Creed-Miles.
Khatter is known for his roles in projects such as Dhadak, A Suitable Boy and Homebound, among others. He also starred in Netflix murder-mystery miniseries The Perfect Couple, which marked his Hollywood debut.
Actor Ishaan Khatter, who played an army officer in the 2023 war drama Pippa has been conferred with an honorary membership of the 45 Cavalry of the Indian Armoured Corps. Sharing moments from the ceremony on social media, Ishaan described the recognition as "the honour of a lifetime."
"The honour of a lifetime to be conferred upon an honorary membership of 45 Cavalry of the Indian Armoured Corps - which I may now proudly call my regiment! There is no bigger acknowledgment and I only hope to always be reliably and humbly in service in any which way I can be to the bravest and most honourable members of the Indian army," he wrote.
Reflecting on the experience, the actor added, "As somebody who came from a life far removed from military exposure, this is truly mind-boggling for me. I only did my best as an artiste to bring authenticity to the role of a cavalier but this is fuel for a lifetime to keep giving my heart and soul to every role I essay."
The actor will next feature in Jugaadu and the next season of Netflix series The Royals. He was also part of the film Homebound, which was India's official entry for Oscars 2025.
