James Cameron admits he tears up listening to Billie Eilish's music: 'It's just so powerful'

The concert movie Billie Eilish - Hit Me Hard and Soft: The Tour (Live In 3D) releases in Indian theatres this Friday, 15th May 2026. The film is a documentary based on Eilish's album Hit Me Hard and Soft.

At its screening event, legendary filmmaker James Cameron opened up about the profound emotional impact Billie Eilish's music has had on him while discussing the documentary film.

When asked what his favourite Billie Eilish song is, the filmmaker said, "It's tricky because I like them all. There's some that hit me harder than others," and then went on to say that Wildflower is "beautiful" and "exquisite." He added, "When she hits some of the high notes in The Greatest, I tear up. It's just so powerful, right? And by the way, it doesn't matter how many times I see this damn stuff, I tear up at the end of TV when everybody's singing back the chorus with her."

The Avatar director particularly highlighted the emotional crowd singing along at the end of TV, describing it as a deeply cathartic moment for fans navigating heartbreak, pain, and self-doubt.

Cameron also praised Billie's ability to create music that resonates on a deeply personal level, saying her songs connect with listeners who see parts of their own lives and relationships reflected in her lyrics.
