There are threats of lawsuits between Mariah Carey and ex fiancé, businessman James Packer as "settlement" negotiations have broken down with Carey accusing Packer of being a 'lying opportunist', reports entertainment portal TMZ.
The singer demanded $50 million from Packer, claiming he uprooted her life from New York and caused her emotional distress and led her to cancel the South American leg of her world tour.
Sources on Packer's behalf argued the tour was cancelled due to poor ticket sales. Reportedly, he now feels since they weren't married, there's no legal ground to pay her a penny.
Carey, on the other hand, thinks Packer used her to secure business, and dragged her to various meetings to meet important people to seal lucrative deals. Hence, she's entitled to a cut of as much as $50 million is what she apparently feels. Will she get it, though?
