Pop icon Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding is one of the most anticipated events of the year. The couple is reportedly taking extraordinary measures to keep their highly awaited wedding private. As more than 1,100 guests prepare for the New York City celebrations, they have reportedly used personalised, watermarked invitations that can trace any leaks.
According to TMZ, every invitation is individually watermarked with the guest's first and last name repeated throughout the invite - a security measure designed to identify anyone who leaks it online. The precaution reportedly allows the couple to identify exactly who leaked an invitation if it appears on the internet. TMZ, citing sources with direct knowledge, reported that if a guest photographs and shares the invite publicly, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce would be able to trace it back to that attendee. The invitation does not mention Madison Square Garden. Instead, it simply lists New York City as the location.
The added precautions reportedly come as more than 1,100 guests prepare to attend the July 3 celebration in New York City, making privacy a top concern for the couple. Invitations reportedly began reaching guests in early spring, with many attendees receiving theirs around April.
TMZ had earlier reported that a permit was filed with New York City to close streets surrounding Madison Square Garden from July 2 through midday July 4 for festivities centred around a July 3 event. Stevie Nicks and Tim McGraw are expected to perform during the celebrations. While nothing has been confirmed by Swift or her team, a report by The New York Times suggests that an event could take place on July 2, followed by a larger celebration on July 3.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, guests attending the reported wedding celebrations have been asked not to bring gifts. Although no official guest list has been released, several names have been linked to the celebrations. According to PEOPLE magazine, Jason Kelce and Kylie Kelce are expected to attend. Reports have also suggested that Zoe Kravitz, Ed Sheeran, Patrick Mahomes, Selena Gomez, Este Haim, Danielle Haim, Sabrina Carpenter, Gracie Abrams, Max Martin, and Lana Del Rey could be among the guests.
For the unversed, Swift and Kelce, who have been linked since 2023, announced their engagement through a joint Instagram post on August 26 last year. "Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married," Swift wrote at the time.
