Singer Taylor Swift and football champion Travis Kelce's real-life "Love Story" has entered its forever chapter, as the couple officially tied the knot on July 3. Their wedding was filled with heartfelt moments, but one stood out above the rest. Travis Kelce reportedly became more emotional than bride Taylor Swift while exchanging their self-written vows.

According to two guests who spoke with NBC News, both Taylor and Travis wrote their own vows for the wedding. The attendees said Taylor even sang part of her vows, and the emotional exchange reportedly left plenty of guests reaching for tissues. One attendee told the outlet the groom was actually more overwhelmed than the bride, saying, "You would think the bride would be the one crying more, but it was actually Travis that was more emotional."

As per People, an insider said, "Their vows were about 20 minutes each," and the couple read them from gold books. The couple also gave guests embroidered handkerchiefs for the emotional moments during the ceremony.

As per People, another insider said the venue "looked like a forest," with décor including ferns and trees, and the arena seats covered in white. The guests were served food from Swift and Kelce's favourite New York City restaurants, according to the two attendees.

The pair's representatives said in a statement that the ceremony was officiated by friend and comedian Adam Sandler. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce also broke away from wedding tradition by opting against having bridesmaids and groomsmen.

Meanwhile, after the couple exchanged vows in a private ceremony, the iconic Madison Square Garden, New York, marked the occasion by displaying a special "JusT&T Married" message on its giant screens immediately after the ceremony. For their big day, the bride and groom wore custom Christian Dior Haute Couture.

Taylor and Travis' love story

Swift and Kelce began dating in 2023 after the Kansas City Chiefs tight end revealed on his New Heights podcast that he had unsuccessfully tried to give the singer a friendship bracelet with his phone number during one of her Eras Tour concerts. Their relationship soon became public after Swift attended a Chiefs game later that year, and the couple have since frequently supported each other's careers.

The pair later announced their engagement in August 2025 through a joint Instagram post featuring Kelce's proposal.
