As a result of the pact signed between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, The Crew is slated to be the first Russian film to be released in India. Quite a few pacts were signed between the two countries, including strengthening of cultural ties, in a pre-cursor to the celebration of 75 years of diplomatic ties.

The USP of the edge-of-the-seat thriller is said to be its awe-inspiring graphics. The Crew releases next week and has been brought to India by RG Studios. It is an English dubbed version of the blockbuster Russian film, Ekipazh, which released in April 2016. It was inspired by the 1979 Soviet film, Air Crew, and was the second catastrophe film shot in the Russian Federation.

Irfan Siddiqui, co founder of RG Studios, says, "The movie talks about courage and humanity, since the focus is on the rescue of people stuck in a volcano. The thrilling part is that this operation takes place mid-air, but how? Your questions will be answered on January 20. The film is an action thriller and is at par with Hollywood films."
