The Devil Wears Prada 2 has found an admirer in Christopher Nolan. The Oscar-winning filmmaker revealed he watched the 20th Century Studios film in the opening weekend and has absolutely loved it. Nolan also went on to share his thoughts on Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt, both of whom he has worked with in the past.
Speaking on The Late Show, Nolan was talking about working with Anne Hathaway again when he was asked if he watched The Devil Wears Prada 2. "I watched it last night. It was fabulous, with Emily Blunt as well. It was terrific," Nolan said, resulting in the audience giving a loud cheer.
The film has received much love from the audiences, not only in the US but also in India. Critics showered the film with praise, while the impressive box office collection in India is a testament to the love the film has received in India.
The film sees Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt return as Andy and Emily after 20 years. They are joined by Meryl Streep and Stanley Tucci, who reprise their roles as the iconic Miranda and Nigel.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 proves that waiting for 20 years for this sequel was absolutely the right move.
The first instalment, which was released in 2006, follows Andy Sachs, an aspiring journalist who gets a job at a fashion magazine but finds herself at the mercy of her demanding editor, Miranda Priestly.
20 years later, in the sequel, Andy Sachs is recruited to be the Features Editor at Runway and is forced to work alongside her former boss, Miranda Priestly. Miranda struggles against Emily Charlton, her former assistant turned rival executive, as they compete for advertising revenue amid declining print media while she nears retirement.
There are many new cast members, including Kenneth Branagh, Simone Ashley, Justin Theroux, Lucy Liu, Patrick Brammall, Caleb Hearon, Helen J. Shen, Pauline Chalamet, B. J. Novak, and Conrad Ricamora. Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman also reprise their roles as Lily and Irv from the original film.
The Devil Wears Prada 2 is directed by David Frankel and written by Aline Brosh McKenna.
