Following the box office success of the psychological thriller The Housemaid, Lionsgate is officially moving forward with a sequel. As per the latest development, Stephen Kalyn, star of the Prime Video series Off Campus, is joining the cast.

Kalyn is slated to play the role of Brock in the Paul Feig-directed film. He joins Sydney Sweeney, Kirsten Dunst and Paul Anthony Kelly. He will be playing Brock, the wealthy lawyer boyfriend of her character, Millie, who knows nothing about her criminal past in the sequel to the wildly popular book-turned-movie.

The Housemaid delivers seductive tension, emotional depth and high-stakes drama. Trying to escape her past, Millie (Sweeney) takes a job as a live-in housemaid for wealthy couple Nina (Seyfried) and Andrew Winchester (Sklenar), only for the dream opportunity to spiral into a dangerous game of secrets, scandal and power, with shocking twists unfolding behind closed doors until the very end. The sequel is set to arrive in theatres in December 2027.

Meanwhile, Kalyn will also join the second season of Off Campus, where he plays Dean Di Laurentis. He is set to reprise the role in the upcoming second season, with Dean and Allie Hayes (Mika Abdalla) becoming the central couple.

More about Sydney Sweeney

Sweeney was in the news for her series Euphoria. Creator Sam Levinson once wanted to exclude nudity for Sydney Sweeney's Cassie, something that has already received quite some criticism for over-sexualisation. According to a Variety report, it was Sydney Sweeney herself who rejected the idea of eliminating nudity from Euphoria.

Apart from this, she was supposed to be a part of The Devil Wears Prada 2. However, the three-minute cameo was removed. Rumours were also rife that she was offered Rs 530 crore to star in a Bollywood film.

After being targeted for her appearance over the years, Sweeney had shut down rumours of getting plastic surgery. During her interview, Sweeney was asked to select a "beauty rumour" that she would like to debunk, to which she clarified, "Let's debunk them all. I mean, I have never gotten work done. I am so scared of needles, you have no idea," as quoted by People.
