The mega budget Kannada film, starring Murali and Sharmila Mandre, is all set for release on January 14
Shivamani was in the news after the film's producer, Ajay Pai, used 25 autos in the city for a publicity blitz. Srimurali and Sharmila Mandre play the lead roles in this film. Director S K Amaranath speaks to HiT LiST.
Action flick or family drama, how do you intend to position Shivamani? It is an out and out entertainer for the family and it has plenty of action. The film promises as much entertainment as 10 TV serials.
With so many films being released, will competition hurt Shivamani? I don't think so. We have taken a historic look at Bangalore, which makes this film stand out. The actors have also put in their best.
Have you found your calling in film direction?This is a field that offers limitless scope for creativity. I love the creative side of film-making and I also enjoy the risk element. But I am wary of critics because I find that many of them take great pleasure in ripping a film to shreds.
