Actress Payal Ghosh recently revealed she has lost her close school friend, named Sunita Mishra, in the tragic Delhi Red Fort blast on Monday, November 10. The deadly explosion occurred in a Hyundai i20 near the Subhash Marg traffic signal by the Red Fort in Delhi. The blast claimed 12 lives, leaving several others injured. Payal was visibly shaken at the death of her friend.

While talking to Bollywood Bubble, Payal revealed, "I still can't believe she is no more… we spoke just a week back. She was full of life, always smiling, always spreading positivity. It feels unreal that such a kind soul is gone in such a cruel way." The actress further added, "She wasn't just a friend; she was family. We grew up together, shared dreams, laughter, and struggles. Losing her this way… there are no words."

Payal also revealed that she had spoken to Sunita just a week ago. She also expressed her disbelief and sorrow over the tragic loss.

About the Delhi blast

The blast occurred on Monday evening when a powerful explosion tore through a slow-moving car near the Red Fort metro station in Delhi.

The explosion, which took place around 6:52 pm, killed eight people and left several others injured. The car, identified as a white Hyundai i20, was completely destroyed, and nearby vehicles were damaged in the busy area.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced an ex gratia payment for the families of the victims of the deadly Red Fort car blast on Tuesday. The Delhi government also announced Rs 5 lakh each for individuals who are permanently disabled and for those who sustained serious injuries.

CM Rekha Gupta shared a post on X, which read, "In this hour of difficulty, the Government of Delhi extends its deepest condolences to all those families who have lost their loved ones and to those who have been injured in this incident."

Following the explosion, Delhi Police registered a case under sections 16 and 18 of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), the Explosives Act, and relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Kotwali Police Station.

The case is now being jointly investigated by central and state agencies amid heightened security in the national capital.
