Shooting a bilingual film can be creatively satisfying. But it can be equally demanding, points out Adivi Sesh, who recently wrapped up the shoot of Dacoit: A Love Story's Hindi version in Mumbai. The actor, who also doubles up as the screenwriter of the Hindi and Telugu offering, shares, "Shooting bilingual films is like making two movies. Every frame, every emotion must feel authentic to its audience."

The first look of ‘Dacoit' was unveiled last December

Directed by Shaneil Deo, Dacoit is a romantic action drama that also stars Mrunal Thakur, and Anurag Kashyap as the antagonist. This isn't Sesh's first bilingual movie. In 2022, he had also fronted and written Major, the biopic on late Sandeep Unnikrishnan. Sesh reflects that Hindi and Telugu films differ on many counts, right from their emotional quotient to their syntax. He breaks it down further, saying, "[In Dacoit], the Hindi version has a subtle emotional undertone, while the Telugu version is a bit louder in expression and body language. Each has its own soul. I had to adopt this approach while being in front of the camera and as the co-writer. While the body of the film and the script remain the same, the emotions in both the languages are so vastly different, that it was like shooting for two separate films."
