Allu Arjun is facing scrutiny online over his post celebrating India's Independence Day on August 15, 2026. The actor marked the day by sharing a post wishing fans, just like several other celebrities. However, Allu Arjun's post featured an image of the Indian national flag without the Ashoka Chakra. Several users on social media criticised the actor over the image, following which he deleted the post.
Allu Arjun shared a post on the morning of Independence Day, which included a design of the tricolour unfurling over the Red Fort. However, eagle-eyed netizens noticed that the Ashoka Chakra on the tricolour was missing, leading to many slamming the actor. Following the criticism, Allu Arjun deleted the post.
Nevertheless, the image had already gone viral on social media, with many sharing it. The incident has sparked discussions on social media as users are stressing the importance of accurately representing the national flag, particularly on a significant occasion like Independence Day by someone like him.
Allu Arjun was recently seen in Visakhapatnam to launch AAA Cinemas, where he was chased by fans.
Slamming the actor, one user wrote, "He is using the wrong flag and misleading people with an incorrect representation of the National Flag. The Ashoka Chakra is missing from the flag." Similarly, another user said, "He has no knowledge at all. National Flag should have Ashoka Chakra. And WTF, his name on Red Fort."
A third user commented, "AA doesn't know how to use AI lol." Another user added, "AlluArjun does not even know what the national flag of India looks like. He should apologise to the entire India, just deleting the post will not work. Very shameful and childish act."
Following the backlash, Allu Arjun is yet to publicly comment on the controversy or clarify the image he shared.
On the workfront, the actor is gearing up for his next, Raaka, alongside Deepika Padukone in the lead. Directed by Atlee and produced by Sun Pictures, the film is planned to be a two-part saga also featuring Mrunal Thakur, Rashmika Mandanna and Janhvi Kapoor. After that, he also has a film with Lokesh Kanagaraj in the pipeline, which is tentatively titled AA23.
