Actor Arjun Das, who primarily works in the Tamil film industry, is rumoured to be engaged. Being one of the fastest-rising stars in the industry, there is immense interest surrounding his personal life. However, amid the engagement rumours, his team has dismissed the reports.
Yuvraaj, the actor's publicist, took to X to dismiss the rumours surrounding Arjun Das' engagement. He wrote, "Dear all, this is to clarify that there is no truth in the rumours doing the rounds about actor iam_arjundas's wedding. We request friends from the media to please check with us and verify facts before publishing such news reports."
Earlier in the day, social media was abuzz with rumours claiming that the actor was set to get engaged later this week in a private ceremony attended only by close family and friends. Speculation also suggested that his wedding would be an intimate affair.
However, the actor's team has now clarified that there is absolutely no truth to these baseless rumours.
Meanwhile, Arjun Das is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Con City, which is slated to hit screens worldwide on June 26 this year.
Directed by Harish Durairaj, the comedy family entertainer stars Arjun Das and Anna Ben in the lead roles.
The makers have already revealed the characters played by Arjun Das, Anna Ben, Yogi Babu, Arul Doss, Abdul Razzak, Shahji Chen, Ponvannan, Sathanand, Rage Esakki, Madhan Dakshinamoorthy, Imman Annachi, Ramesh Thilak, Thambi Ramaiah, and Bharadwaj Rangan in the film.
A teaser released earlier has generated significant curiosity around the project.
The teaser opens with Arjun Das receiving threats over a phone call from a moneylender, who questions why he has stopped answering his calls.
From the conversation, it becomes evident that Arjun Das has fled with his family after locking up his home. The moneylender threatens him, saying, "Do you think I can't find you? If you think you can cheat me out of my money, no matter where you run, I will cut your family members to pieces before your eyes." Arjun Das sternly tells him he will not pay and asks him to do whatever he wants.
Soon after the conversation, Arjun Das loses his temper and starts hurling objects around in anger. When he picks up a small machine resembling a receipt printer from a grocery store, lightning strikes and touches the machine in his hand.
Soon after, every time he presses a button for a receipt, Rs 500 notes begin pouring out of the machine. Arjun Das suddenly finds himself in a position to repay the moneylender.
Written and directed by Harish Durairaj, the film also features Vadivukkarasi, Imman Annachi, and Akhilan in pivotal roles.
