Joby Kodakara, who worked as Mohanlal's body double in Rajinikanth-starrer Jailer 2, has finally addressed the controversy surrounding the Malayalam superstar's appearance in the film. The mimicry artist clarified that only parts of his hands and legs were used in a few shots in the film.

Why was Mohanlal's body double criticised?

Addressing claims about his role in climax, Joby said his face was not shown anywhere. The controversy caught attention after Joby shared pics of himself dressed in Mohalal's look from the film on its release day.

The pictures sparked online discussions about whether Mohanlal's body double was used in parts of the climax, leading to criticism and speculation on social media. Joby also faced backlash for sharing pictures taken on the film's set, with some questioning his decision to share images, and others subjecting him to online harrasment.

Joby Kodakara clarifies his role in Jailer 2

In a conversation with the YouTube channel 'Jango Space,' Joby Kodakkara made it clear that his involvement in Jailer 2 was limited to few scenes. "To be honest, only one or two shots featuring me have been used in the film. Only parts of my hands and legs are visible. These appear in the airport scene during the climax. My face has not been shown anywhere in the film. The face that people claim was used in the climax is not mine. I am certain about that," Joby said.

He further added that body doubles are generally used for certain shots when actor's availablity make it difficult for him to shoot every portion of a sequence. "They are among the finest actors in the world, so perhaps I was used because of scheduling or time constraints," he said, referring to the actors involved in the film.
