Thalapathy Vijay
A few days ago, it was reported that the first show of Thalapathy Vijay's upcoming film Jana Nayagan would be held at 4 am in Kerala. However, the fan association has now shared that they were unsuccessful in obtaining permission for the early morning show. The FDFS show in Kerala will now begin at 6 am.
Fans of Thalapathy Vijay are bracing themselves for the historic moment of the actor's farewell film. Several locations are gearing up for grand FDFS celebrations of Jana Nayagan, which is slated for a January 9 release. An official statement by SSR Entertainment, which has gone viral, reads: "We made every possible effort to conduct the first show of Jana Nayagan in Kerala at 4 am. Initially, permission for the 4 am show was granted from the producer's side. However, due to the current situation and certain issues arising in Tamil Nadu, the 4 am show licence could not be approved.
"Therefore, the first show of Jana Nayagan in Kerala will be at 6 am. We sincerely apologise to all Kerala Thalapathy fans for the inconvenience caused. We strongly believe that the January 9, 6 am show will be wholeheartedly supported and made a grand success by the fans."
The audio launch event for Jana Nayagan was held in Malaysia on Saturday. The event was graced by the cast and crew of the film along with Thalapathy Vijay. While addressing his fans, Vijay spoke about retiring from movies and dedicating rest of his life for public service. "When I entered the cinema, I thought I was building a small sand house here. But you all have built me a palace. Fans helped me build a fort⦠That's why I've decided to stand for them. For the fans who gave up everything for me, I'm giving up cinema itself," the actor said.
"My fans come to see me in theatres. Now, I will stand up for them for the next 30 to 33 years. They have been very loyal, even when I faced criticism from others. This Vijay will pay back his debt of gratitude," said the superstar.
Thanking Malaysian fans particularly, Vijay recollected the films he shot in the country. "I remember coming here for Kuruvi and Kavalan." The venue erupted when he mentioned his long-time competitor and colleague Ajith Kumar's name. "My friend's Ajith's Billa was shot in Malaysia."
