Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda
Newlyweds Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda had announced that they would celebrate their wedding with citizens by distributing sweets across different states and organising annadanam in multiple temples on March 1. Staying true to their word, the couple was seen at the Tirumala Venkateswara Temple on Sunday morning.
Beginning the new month and a new chapter of their lives on an auspicious note, Vijay and Rashmika visited the temple to seek blessings. Rashmika looked elegant in a green saree paired with gold jewellery, while Vijay wore a white kurta with a red shawl draped around him. The couple was accompanied by their family members. After offering prayers, they distributed sweet boxes to people gathered at the temple premises. A large crowd assembled to meet the newly married couple and receive sweets from them.
On Saturday night, the duo announced that they would conduct annadanam at temples across the country on Sunday to mark this major milestone. They are also sending trucks filled with sweets to various cities nationwide to commemorate their wedding.
Sharing the news on social media, they wrote, "To the beautiful people of this country, you have always been a part of our journeys and our love. It would make us truly happy to celebrate our wedding with all of you. And how does India celebrate everything? With mithai and food :)) So on March 1st we are sending trucks filled with love and sweets across the country to share this big moment in our lives with all of you. And we will be doing annadanam in multiple temples across the country. Seeking all your blessings :) With Love Vijay & Rashmika (sic)."
The sweets will be distributed in cities including Hyderabad, Mahbubnagar, Karimnagar, Delhi, Chandigarh, Noida, Ghaziabad, Ahmedabad, Bhopal, Mumbai, Jaipur, Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Puttaparthi, Kochi, Mysuru, Coorg, Bengaluru, Coimbatore, Chennai, and Puducherry.
Meanwhile, celebrating the couple's wedding, the makers of their upcoming period film Ranabaali unveiled a glimpse of the wedding song âEndhayya Saami' on Saturday. Vijay will be seen in the titular role, while Rashmika has been roped in to portray his wife, Jayamma.
Actor Arnold Vosloo, known for his work in The Mummy, essays the role of the antagonist, Sir Theodore Hector.
If reports are to be believed, Ranabaali is based on real incidents from the 1850s that never found a place in mainstream history books.
Previously, Vijay and Rashmika shared screen space in Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade. However, Ranabaali will mark their first on-screen collaboration after their marriage.
