As Ram Charan's upcoming film Peddi gears up for its grand release, the film has received a big advantage. The Andhra Pradesh government has officially granted permission for the premiere shows of the film starting June 3. Along with early screenings, the authorities have also approved a ticket price hike for the film.
Following the permissions, the early screenings are scheduled to begin at 8 PM on June 3 in Andhra Pradesh. After the approval, the premiere show tickets in Andhra Pradesh have been priced at Rs 600, including GST. Additionally, the government has also permitted a temporary ticket price hike of Rs 100 for single-screen theatres and Rs 125 for multiplexes. These revised ticket rates will remain in effect for seven days from the date of their release. Similarly, the state has also allowed five shows per day, ensuring a wider reach for audiences during the opening week.
Notably, while Andhra Pradesh has cleared all formalities, there is still no official confirmation regarding premiere show permissions in Telangana. The fans in Telangana are eagerly awaiting an announcement in the coming few days. The film is directed by Buchi Babu Sana and is believed to be a sports drama about identity and empowerment.
The release of Peddi was affected in recent weeks due to an ongoing dispute within the Telugu film industry. The conflict was over theatre rental and percentage-sharing systems. The Telangana Exhibitors Association wanted the implementation of a percentage-based revenue model. After discussions with exhibitors, producers, and distributors, industry representatives met with Chiranjeevi to resolve the issue. During the meeting, it was decided that the percentage-sharing system would be implemented from July 3 onwards for smoother operations.
The Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor-starrer also includes a strong ensemble cast consisting of Jagapathi Babu, Shiva Rajkumar, Divyenndu Sharma, Boman Irani, and Tinnu Anand in key roles. The film is helmed by Buchi Babu Sana and produced by Venkata Satish Kilaru under Vriddhi Cinemas. Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings will be presenting the film, which features music by AR Rahman.
