Raaka: Allu Arjun’s manager clarifies core team never compared film with Avatar

Allu Arjun and Atlee's Raaka has been making headlines over its much-discussed visuals after filmmaker Cibi Chakaravarthi compared them with Avatar. Amid the buzz, Allu Arjun's manager Sarath Chandra Naidu clarified that the film's core team has never compared Raaka with any path-breaking or genre-defining films.

Reacting to the X post, Allu Arjun's manager Sarath Chandra Naidu wrote, "Thank you for sharing your thoughts. The term 'Global Triumph' that we used has a specific reason behind it, and you will get to know about it very soon. Also, just to clarify… The core team of #Raaka has never compared the film with any path-breaking or genre-defining films. We are confident the content will speak for itself."

Allu Arjun's manager also addressed rumours of the film being delayed and wrote, "Yes. It has all the chances to get delayed to 2028, but we can't say it until it's confirmed by production team."

About Cibi Chakaravarthi's statement

The latest discussion started after filmmaker Cibi Chakaravarthi spoke about the film at an event. While praising the visuals, he said, "I have seen the visuals of his (Atlee's) films; he showed them to me. Sir, I don't think even Avatar has visuals like that. Everyone will see what I'm talking about in three days. The visuals were extraordinary. Much like how Rajamouli sir is taking Indian cinema to the next level, I believe Atlee sir will take Indian cinema to the global map."

After the claim, one netizen felt the comparisons were getting a little too much and asked the Raaka team to be careful with its marketing.

About Raaka

The sci-fi film will move across three timelines, featuring "wild beasts, exotic new creatures and species", informs the source to mid-day. "A massive set is also being built at Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad for a September schedule, where the makers will shoot the interval block, featuring Arjun in elaborate action sequences."

The film could get a major Hollywood addition. Reports claim Oscar winner Will Smith may shoot his portions in an overseas schedule after being approached to play the sci-fi epic's antagonist.
