As Rashmika Mandanna and Vijay Deverakonda's upcoming film, Ranabaali, gears up for release, reports recently surfaced that the makers had applied for ticket prices hike. Mythri Movie Makers, the production house, has now reacted to the reports, dismissing them via an X post. The production house clarified that they had not applied for any ticket price hike.
The makers took to X to clarify the reports. "There have been reports that we have applied for ticket price hikes in Andhra Pradesh for Ranabaali. We would like to clarify that these reports are completely false. We have not applied for any ticket price hikes in either of the Telugu States (sic)," the production house wrote in the statement.
The makers also confirmed that Ranabaali would release in cinemas at standard ticket prices, while adding that they were confident that audiences would have a good theatrical experience during the festive season. "Ranabaali will release at standard ticket prices, and we are confident that audiences will have a great cinematic experience this festive season," Mythri Movie Makers wrote.
Notably, the clarification comes amid the trend of hiked ticket pricing. It has become a major talking point around several big-ticket releases, especially films seeking permission for special shows and increased ticket rates in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Nevertheless, the makers of Ranabaali have now made it clear that cinemagoers will not have to pay an additional amount to watch the film.
Ranabaali is scheduled to release in theatres on October 16, 2026, coinciding with the festive weekend of Dussehra. The period action drama features Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna in the lead roles and is helmed by Rahul Sankrityan.
The film is being planned as a multilingual release, as the promotions are currently underway. The makers are expected to host more promotional activities, including a pre-release event, ahead of its theatrical release.
Ranabaali is a period action drama set against the backdrop of the Madras Famine of 1876-78. It follows the life of a Rayalaseema man who rises against oppression. While Vijay Deverakonda plays the titular character, Rashmika Mandanna plays Jayamma, his wife and companion in his fight. Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo plays Sir Theodore Hector, an English oppressor and the antagonist.
