Nearly 21 years after the release of the sensational 'Bharateeyudu' ('Indian' in Tamil and 'Hindustani' in Hindi) which was a blockbuster upon release, the duo S. Shankar and actor Kamal Haasan are all set to come together again
Nearly 21 years after the release of the sensational 'Bharateeyudu' ('Indian' in Tamil and 'Hindustani' in Hindi) which was a blockbuster upon release, the duo S. Shankar and actor Kamal Haasan are all set to come together again, and this time it is for the sequel of the film, which will be titled 'Indian 2'. And what's interesting is the Tamil-Telugu bilingual film which will also release in several other Indian languages. It is set to be produced by ace Telugu producer Dil Raju under his Sri Venkateswara Creations banner.

After bankrolling several mega ventures from 'Dil' to 'Fidaa' in Telugu, the producer has taken up this very interesting project.

'Bharateeyudu' was notable for its striking story of a freedom fighter who rises up to fight against corruption in post-independent India and now, this sequel is going to be produced on a vast scale.
Speaking about the development, Dil Raju shares, "We have always strived to bring meaningful cinema to Telugu audiences and it is in the same endeavour that we have collaborated for this prestigious and ambitious project. With high technical values and a story to suit the present day scenarios, we have decided to go all out to bring this film to the silver screen."

Meanwhile, he also informed that director Shankar is busy with Rajinikanth's 2.0 and that this film's pre-production will begin soon after that.
He added, "The film will be a Telugu-Tamil bilingual which will eventually have a wide release in several languages. We will soon announce other details regarding the cast and crew."
