A lot has changed in the 11 years since Shehnaaz Gill first faced the camera. Having moved from reality television to Punjabi and Hindi cinema, the actor has seen highs and lows in her career, bringing a sense of maturity in her. "I have matured a lot. I believe in myself. I can see my growth - where I came from and what I am doing today. I feel very proud of myself," asserted the actor.

That maturity has also changed how she approaches films. Gill said that as constant offers come her way, she now cherry-picks her roles - like she did, with her upcoming film, Singh vs Kaur 2. She reasoned, "The content should be good. I need to know [that these] are the right writers and right content. It should touch my heart. I choose one film out of 10 or 20."

Singh vs Kaur 2, led by Gippy Grewal and Gill, made the cut. What about director Navaniat Singh's Punjabi film drew her? "The first part [released in 2013] was my favourite. When I heard the second part's narration, I liked it. Having seen the first edition, I understood what was going to happen, but my character was different [from what I expected]."
