Prabhas and Maruthi
Prabhas's The RajaSaab is all set for a theatrical release in January. After several delays, the film is finally gearing up for a grand release. Directed by Maruthi, the Prabhas-starrer is a horror-comedy drama. The makers organised a grand pre-release event on Saturday in Hyderabad, where the director made a bold statement reflecting his confidence in the film.
At the pre-release event, Prabhas was present along with co-stars Nidhhi Agerwal, Malavika Mohanan and Riddhi Kumar. Expressing his confidence, Maruthi said, "If even 1 percent of you are disappointed with the film - both Rebel Star fans and families - you can come to my house and question me. Villa No. 17, Kolla Luxuria, Kondapur!"
Fans cheered loudly as the director made the claim, while Prabhas, standing beside him, sported a broad smile. Maruthi later grew emotional while speaking about Prabhas and the effort he put into the film to ensure it matched the intended vision and scale. Prabhas hugged him on stage to calm him down.
At the event, Prabhas said he was completely blown away by the way the film's climax was designed. He said, "I'm just speechless. Yes, it's you (the audience) who ultimately needs to judge the film, but for me, it's a superb climax. Maruthi darling, did you write the climax with a pen or a machine gun?"
Prabhas also extended his best wishes to all the Sankranthi releases. "I wish all the Sankranthi releases become blockbusters. It will be great if our film also succeeds (laughs). I always respect seniors and have learnt a lot from them. We are only following in their footsteps. The trailer will be out tomorrow and will showcase the film's scale. It's going to be massive," he said.
According to a 123 Telugu report, The RajaSaab has completed its censor formalities with a runtime of approximately 183 minutes (3 hours and 3 minutes). The film has reportedly received a U/A certificate from the CBFC ahead of its Sankranthi 2026 release.
The cast includes Prabhas in dual roles, along with Malavika Mohanan, Nidhhi Agerwal, Riddhi Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, and Nayanthara in a special song. Directed by Maruthi, a pioneer of the horror-comedy genre in Telugu cinema, The RajaSaab is produced by Viswa Prasad under the People Media Factory banner. The film will release in five languages - Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam.
