TDP MLA apologises to Jr NTR
Jr. NTR's fans and followers staged a protest at the residence of the Anantapur MLA Daggupati Venkateswara Prasad, demanding that he apologise to the actor. Fans gathered at the office located in Srinagar Colony, Anantapur city, in protest against the viral audio calls allegedly insulting Jr. NTR.
In the recording, the MLA is purportedly heard insulting actor Jr NTR and calling for a boycott of his latest film War 2. In the clip, a voice said to be Prasad's can be heard stating, "The cinema won't run. Without my word, the cinema won't run. I am Anantapur MLA." When the caller responded, "What you're talking like that, Anna.... What should I tell?", the MLA allegedly reiterated, "It doesn't matter. War 2 will not be released, it won't run. I am the MLA here."
After the backlash, Prasad Daggupati shared a video on X (formerly Twitter) apologising and clarifying that the leaked audio was not his voice, claiming it was part of a political conspiracy.
He was heard saying in Telugu, "Those audio calls are not mine. This is all being done as part of a political conspiracy. For the past 16 months, conspiracies have been plotted against me in the Urban constituency. From the beginning, I have been an admirer of the Nandamuri family. I have always loved watching Balakrishna and NTR's movies. But now, fake audio calls have been created as if I abused Jr NTR. That call is fake, there is no truth in it. I have lodged a complaint with the District SP, and the police will definitely investigate and take action."
Recently, Jr. NTR's War 2 was released in theatres across India, and it's still running. Starring Hrithik Roshan and Kiara Advani in the lead roles alongside Jr. NTR, the fans have been praising Jr. NTR's performance in the movie.
The film is directed by Ayan Mukerji. It is the sequel to the blockbuster movie War, which starred Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff in the lead roles. Hrithik reprises his role of Kabir in the film. The sequel features the clash between Jr NTR and Hrithik Roshan as they both try to serve the nation by following their respective ideologies. War 2 is facing a clash at the box office with Rajinikanth's Coolie, which also stars Nagarjuna in the lead role.
