11-year-old Baroda resident, Gracy Goswami, has been roped in to portray the role of young Nimboli, whose childhood and future will be gripped by the perils of child marriage.

To step into these shoes, Gracy is currently in the process of shifting base to Mumbai, along with her family, who have been tutoring her about child marriage and what it entails.

Nimboli's name, too, bears witness to the discrimination of child marriage as she is named after the bitter fruit of a neem tree that is never celebrated and always ridiculed.

As a new 'Balika Vadhu' takes centrestage, we cannot help but wonder if Anandi and her daughter will ever be reunited.
