Avika Gor has moved to Bangkok with husband Milind Chandwani after their wedding last year, but the actor has clarified that she is not stepping away from Indian television or films. The actress, best known for shows like Balika Vadhu and Sasural Simar Ka, recently opened up about the major life change and explained why the couple decided to relocate abroad.
Speaking about the move with HT, Avika shared that Bangkok felt like the right place for Milind's professional growth, and she did not want to hold him back from exploring better opportunities. The actor revealed that the couple has even purchased a house there and she has been personally involved in setting it up. Calling the experience exciting, Avika admitted that she always loved spending time in Bangkok and often felt like she was on a holiday there.
The actress explained that their relationship has always been built on mutual support. Having dated for seven years before marriage, the couple learned to encourage each other's ambitions and career choices. Avika said Milind has always supported her during long and hectic shooting schedules, and in the same way, she believes she should support his dreams too.
Addressing speculation about whether she is quitting Indian TV, Avika made it clear that her professional commitments remain unchanged. She pointed out that even while living in Mumbai, she spent months travelling between cities like Hyderabad, Rajahmundry and Visakhapatnam for shoots. According to her, the entertainment industry already demands constant travel, so shifting her base to Bangkok does not make a huge difference.
Avika also dismissed concerns about losing projects because of the move. The actor confidently stated that work opportunities usually align with her schedule and added that if filmmakers genuinely want to collaborate with her, they will make the effort. She also revealed that people from the industry have been extremely supportive of her decision.
Even though Bangkok is now home, Avika stressed that India continues to remain emotionally important for both her and Milind because their families are based here. The actress added that she will keep travelling back and forth depending on work commitments. She is also reportedly gearing up for Khatron Ke Khiladi and has a South film release lined up soon.
Calling this period the "best phase" of her life, Avika said she is enjoying both her personal and professional journey while learning to balance marriage, travel and work at the same time.
