Comedian Bharti Singh and her husband, writer-producer Harsh Limbachiyaa, have opened up about the severe water shortage affecting their residential building, revealing that the problem has persisted for months and continues to disrupt their daily lives. The couple shared their experience in a recent vlog, highlighting the challenges residents face despite living in a premium housing complex in Mumbai.
Speaking about the situation, Harsh said that the water crisis is not a recent development. According to him, residents have been dealing with irregular supply for a long time. He explained that even when water is released, it comes for such a brief period that many people barely get a chance to use it.
Expressing his frustration, Harsh said that they were informed water would be available in the morning, but the supply was so limited that residents hardly noticed when it arrived and when it stopped. He added that the issue has become a recurring concern for everyone living in the building.
Bharti also spoke candidly about how the shortage has affected their routine. In a light-hearted yet telling remark, she joked that the family had started taking "Bisleri baths" because of the lack of water. The comedian's comment quickly caught the attention of viewers, underscoring the seriousness of the problem despite the humorous tone.
The couple's revelation comes at a time when Mumbai is grappling with water-related concerns. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) recently imposed a 10 per cent water cut across the city due to declining reservoir levels and concerns over delayed monsoon rains. Reports suggest that authorities have been implementing emergency measures to manage supplies and prevent a larger crisis.
Harsh pointed out that it is surprising for residents of a reputed residential complex to face such difficulties. "We have been dealing with this problem for a long time," he said, stressing that access to basic necessities should not be a struggle.
While Bharti and Harsh tried to address the issue with humour, their vlog shed light on a growing concern affecting many Mumbai residents. Their experience has sparked conversations online about the city's water management challenges and the need for long-term solutions to ensure uninterrupted supply for households.
