Aamrapali Dubey, one of the most popular and highest-paid actresses in Bhojpuri cinema, has stepped into a very different arena with her Bigg Boss 20 entry. Fondly known as the 'YouTube Queen' by her massive fan following, the actress is now ready to navigate the challenges of the reality show, which she believes could be an exciting experience.
Speaking exclusively to mid-day, Aamrapali explained why she decided to participate in the 20th season of Bigg Boss. "It was the 20th season of Bigg Boss and I'm pretty sure the celebration of the 20th season will be good," she said, adding that she expects the game to be exciting and entertaining for viewers. That anticipation ultimately convinced her to say yes to the show.
However, Aamrapali is well aware of the mental pressure that comes with being locked inside the Bigg Boss house. She revealed that her family was concerned about the toll the show could take on her mental health and even advised her to reconsider the decision.
"Honestly, who is going to be ready for the mental toll that comes along with the show?" she said. Aamrapali added that her family reminded her that money earned from the show should never come at the cost of her mental well-being. Despite those concerns, she wants to experience this side of herself. "I know it will be mentally taxing but let's see. I want to explore this side also of mine," she said.
When it comes to friendships, Aamrapali plans to trust her instincts but remains conscious that Bigg Boss is ultimately a competition. She hopes to make friends with contestants she finds trustworthy, but admits that winning will remain the priority. If a game decision hurts someone, she says she will have to take that step, while also hoping contestants will not take such moves personally.
Aamrapali revealed that her favourite Bigg Boss season was the one widely remembered as the "SidNaaz season". She also named late actor Sidharth Shukla as her favourite winner.
For her, honesty and patience will be crucial to surviving the show. She believes fights may make for a compelling episode, but maintaining composure is important for the long game.
Interestingly, viewers may frequently spot Aamrapali in the kitchen. A self-confessed North Indian food lover, she says she would prefer cooking familiar dishes such as dal, bhaat, chokha and bhujia.
What she expects to miss most is her family, particularly her nightly calls with her mother. As for bringing a celebrity friend into the house, Aamrapali has two names in mind: Dinesh Lal Yadav Nirahua, her close friend and frequent co-star, or Akshara Singh. She has worked with Nirahua in nearly 35 films and considers him family.
