Former Bigg Boss Marathi 6 contestant Divya Shinde has been booked along with several others following an alleged incident at a doctor's residence in Pune. Dr Vidyadhar Gaikwad has accused the group of assaulting him and damaging his property. The complaint also alleges that his car was taken after he refused to pay Rs 5 lakh.
According to a report by NDTV, a complaint has been registered against Divya Shinde and at least seven others for allegedly breaking into the home of a doctor in Pune, assaulting him and taking his car after he allegedly refused to pay Rs 5 lakh.
On the night of September 24, a group of 8-10 people, including Shinde, allegedly entered Dr Vidyadhar Gaikwad's residence. A confrontation reportedly followed, during which Gaikwad was allegedly assaulted with kicks and punches to his face, stomach and back. In his complaint, he also alleged that the attackers used sharp weapons, sticks, belts and iron utensils to assault him.
The group allegedly vandalised household items before leaving with the doctor's car after he refused to pay the demanded Rs 5 lakh. Visuals cited in the reports show Gaikwad with deep injuries to his head, for which he required stitches.
As reported by The Indian Express, Dr Gaikwad's brother, Mahendra, alleged that Shinde had not been invited to the event but attended it and addressed the gathering as a social media influencer. "Later, she began demanding Rs 5 lakh, claiming that the programme received publicity because of her. Dr Vidyadhar had transferred around Rs 50,000 to her through GPay, but she continued demanding more money," Mahendra alleged.
According to The Indian Express, police have booked Shinde, Dhamdhere and others under provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita pertaining to alleged attempted murder, causing hurt, criminal intimidation and extortion.
Dr Vidyadhar Gaikwad is a former Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of the Pune Cantonment Board.
Divya Shinde, known on social media as "Sarkar", is an Ambedkarite social activist, digital influencer and former contestant on Bigg Boss Marathi Season 6. She gained recognition in Maharashtra for grassroots youth advocacy and student rights activism, notably leading protests against fee hikes and private college administrations in Pune. She was abruptly ejected from the show in February 2026 following allegations of threatening fellow housemates.
