Nyra Banerji
Actress Nyra Banerjee recently attended a Durga Puja pandal in Mumbai and performed the traditional dhunuchi dance. Several photographs and videos of her performance have circulated on social media, but one clip has received the most attention.
In the footage, it appears that the dhunuchi became entangled in Nyra's saree, and photographers nearby rushed to aid her. While the problem was resolved, the Bigg Boss 18 contestant was chastised for her choice of attire for the occasion.
Nyra wore a traditional red saree with a sleeveless matching blouse that had tiny straps and a plunging neckline. While some followers praised her festive style, others felt it was inappropriate for the puja occasion.
For those unfamiliar, dhunuchi is an earthenware vessel (often shaped like a bowl with a handle) filled with burning coconut husk or charcoal and aromatic incense. The dance, which is typically performed during Durga Puja, features beautiful moves while waving the dhunuchi to offer prayers.
In response to Dhunuchi becoming stuck in her saree, a commenter said on Instagram, "God's way of telling her that blouse is important." Someone else wrote: "Puja path style nahi tradition or religious spiritual devotion aur dedication hai."
Another person criticised her bold outfit choice, saying, "At the very least, you should dress appropriately for puja." "Yaha sab overacting karne aate hai ... bhakti k liye koi aati hi nahi sab dikhawa," remarked a user who was furious. Another individual commented, "Dharmik kaamo me to ek achhe kapde pehen lene chaiye." "Didi nhi aata to q media ke samne dikhava krti ho", said another user.
Nyra has not responded to any of the comments yet.
The actress is well-known in the southern cinema business, having appeared in a number of Telugu and Tamil films, as well as a few Malayalam and Kannada productions.
She appeared in Bollywood's 2016 film One Night Stand. She has also appeared in various Hindi soap operas, including Divya Drishti, Excuse Me Maadam, and Pishachini, as well as the reality television show Khatron Ke Khiladi 13.
