Rohit Shetty has revealed crucial details regarding the forthcoming season of Khatron ke Khiladi. The director, who is known for hosting the stunt-based reality show, has confirmed that he will return with a fresh cast of contestants who will face their fears head-on. Shetty, who was filling in for Salman Khan on the Bigg Boss Weekend ka Vaar episode, revealed that Khatron ke Khiladi will air next year.
While Akshay Kumar hosted the show for the first few seasons, Shetty took over in season 5 and is set to continue in the following season as well.
While on the sets of Bigg Boss, the Golmaal: Fun Unlimited director remarked, "The audience was upset that we couldn't bring a season this year, but the show will return next year." Shetty's revelation about the show comes amid speculations that the upcoming season has been shelved, and the news has fans delighted.
Contestants from the last season of Khatron ke Khiladi included Nimrit Kaur, Shalin Bhanot, Abhishek Kumar, and Karan Veer Mehra. After being unblemished in most of the stunts, Karan Veer Mehra won the show.
Shetty took over hosting Weekend ka Vaar after Salman Khan left for the Da-Bangg tour, along with Tamannaah Bhatia, Prabhu Deva, Maniesh Paul, Sunil Grover, Jacqueline Fernandez, and Stebin Ben. With his presence at the contentious event, the filmmaker sparked some new drama by criticising Amaal Malik for his threats against the producers and praising Farrhana Bhatt for her solo performance.
In the recent episode, Rohit Shetty picked up the simmering issue of "bias," calling out both Amaal and Shehbaaz for repeatedly questioning the fairness of the show. He began by highlighting the irony that has taken over the narrative. "Outside, the audience says we're biased towards Amaal, and inside, Amaal is the one saying Bigg Boss is biased. It's funny," Rohit remarked, setting the tone for a sharp confrontation.
A cutaway shot showed Gaurav echoing the same sentiment inside the house, saying, "Humare group ke logo ko nikala jaa raha hai," reinforcing the belief that selective targeting was happening. Rohit immediately dismantled this narrative with straightforward logic.
