Rubina Dilaik has once again spoken about her experience of working with Asim Riaz on the reality show Battleground, criticising his alleged behaviour towards the show's creative team and questioning his claims about being responsible for the popularity of several reality shows.
During a recent podcast conversation with Hina Khan, Rocky Jaiswal and Abhinav Shukla, the discussion turned to Asim's previous comments about his contribution to shows such as Bigg Boss, Khatron Ke Khiladi and Battleground. Asim had claimed that these shows benefited from his presence and popularity.
Reacting to those statements, Rubina questioned the idea that the success of multiple shows could be attributed to one person. She said, "Asim Riaz was a nuisance value only," while also asking, "Where is he today?"
Rubina then recalled her experience of working with Asim during Battleground, where the two were associated with the show as gang leaders. According to her, what upset her most was not their disagreements on camera but the way she alleges he interacted with members of the creative team.
She said she considers the makers, creatives, actors and crew members an important part of every project she works on. Rubina alleged that Asim was rude while speaking to the creative team and repeatedly pointed fingers at them and used abusive language. She added that the team continued to remain calm despite his alleged behaviour.
Rubina also questioned Asim's approach to the people working behind the scenes, suggesting that professional success should not come at the cost of basic respect for colleagues. Her comments have once again brought attention to the tensions that surrounded Asim's stint on Battleground.
The show had previously witnessed a heated confrontation between Asim and Rubina. In an earlier episode, Rubina had intervened after Asim became angry with one of his players during a task. Their disagreement escalated after Asim told her, "This is not a serial," prompting Rubina to respond angrily. He later apologised to her after Shikhar Dhawan asked him to do so.
Asim was subsequently reported to have exited Battleground following a major clash involving Rubina and Abhishek Malhan. He later shared a cryptic social media post featuring the word "SCRIPTED", seemingly responding to reports surrounding his departure.
Rubina's latest comments have now reignited discussion about Asim's conduct on the show and his broader claims about his impact on reality television. As of now, Asim has not publicly responded to Rubina's latest remarks or the allegations she made about his behaviour towards the Battleground creative team.
