Actor Saanvie Tallwar recently looked back on her experience working with Karan Kundrra on the television show Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum, recalling an on-set misunderstanding that briefly created tension between the co-stars. Speaking in an interview, Saanvie revealed that the incident stemmed from a scene that required her to slap Karan.
Saanvie Tallwar recently opened up about an awkward on-set incident with her Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum co-star Karan Kundrra, revealing how a slap scene led to tension between them and even involved his then-girlfriend, Anusha Dandekar.
Recalling the incident in a recent interview with Filmibeat, She revealed that there was supposed to be a kiss scene but Karan Kundrra actually kissed her without her consent. She said, "There was a scene, but the director hadn't clapped action, even before that he kissed me and I slapped him. He didn't react at that time, but then he came back in sometime and slapped me hard. There is difference between the intensity in a girl and a man's slap. I fell on the floor and then he abused me and my family. Nobody supported me. Later Ektaa ma'am apologised on Karan's behalf and supported me. She managed to make things easy."
She further added, "A girl actually understands what kind of gaze and vibe the boy is doing. We had a common friend, so I decided to convey it to Anusha Dandekar who was Karan's girlfriend back then that Karan was interested in me. But after that, she kept coming to set and monitoring. Soon after, they started making things difficult for me and the whole environment turned toxic."
Saanvie then revealed that Karan had also tried to misbehave again in a romantic scene, she raised a complaint and the director was replaced.
Looking back, Saanvie said she never harboured any ill feelings towards Karan despite the uncomfortable moment. "These things happen on sets. Sometimes scenes require physical action, and if you're new, you don't always know how much force is too much," she explained.
She also stressed that actors often have to trust the director's vision while performing emotionally or physically demanding scenes. "It wasn't personal. I was just trying to do my job and make the scene look convincing," she added.
Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum, which premiered in 2015, starred Karan Kundrra and Saanvie Tallwar in the lead roles. The romantic supernatural drama developed a loyal fan following during its run, and Saanvie's candid recollection of the slap sequence has now offered fans a glimpse into one of the memorable behind-the-scenes moments from the show.
