Highest paid Bigg Boss hosts: Salman Khan to Vijay Sethupathi

As Bigg Boss completes 20 years, Endemol Shine India has marked the milestone by bringing the audience’s favourite reality show to six languages on the same night. The show has also seen several big names take on the coveted hosting chair. From Bollywood superstar Salman Khan to cricket legend Sourav Ganguly and South stars like Vijay Sethupathi, here’s a look at the highest-paid hosts of the Bigg Boss franchise.

According to a report by ABP Marathi, Salman Khan has reportedly been paid a staggering Rs 120 crore for the entire season of Bigg Boss 20. The actor was reportedly paid Rs 2.5 crore per episode during the starting season, with his fee gradually climbing over the years. Reports claim that his fee was around Rs 200 crore for Bigg Boss 17 and around Rs 250 crore for Bigg Boss 18.
Sourav Ganguly, stepped in as the host of Bigg Boss Bangla Season 3, which returned to television after a decade. According to an earlier report by News18 Bangla, Ganguly reportedly signed a four-year deal with Star Jalsha for the reality show, worth a whopping Rs 125 crore. He followed Mithun Chakraborty and Jeet, who had previously hosted the Bengali edition.
Vijay Sethupathi took over hosting duties from Kamal Haasan in season 8. He charges around Rs 3-4 crore per weekend with his season fee coming close to Rs 75 to 80 crores, according to Filmibeat Tamil.
Before him, Kamal Haasan was reportedly paid around Rs 130 crore for hosting Bigg Boss Tamil Season 7, according to Deccan Chronicle. It made him one of the highest-paid TV hosts in India.
Nagarjuna is the face of Bigg Boss Telugu and has hosted seven seasons of the reality show. His fee reportedly peaked in 2025, with the Kuberaa actor commanding close to Rs 35 crore for the entire season, as mentioned by Variety.
Mohanlal has been synonymous with Bigg Boss Malayalam since the show premiered in 2018. The superstar reportedly earns nearly Rs 30 crore for an entire season, according to Variety. Despite the hefty fee, he is said to shoot for just 20 days during each season of the reality show.
Kiccha Sudeepa has been at the helm of Bigg Boss Kannada, reportedly earning close to Rs 20 crore for an entire season. According to Variety, his remuneration works out to around Rs 2 crore for each weekend episode.
Riteish Deshmukh took over as the host of Bigg Boss Marathi in 2024, replacing Mahesh Manjrekar. According to a News18 Hindi report, the actor reportedly earned around Rs 50 lakh per weekend episode, with his total remuneration for the season estimated at Rs 8–10 crore.
It is interesting to note that a Hindustan Times Marathi report claimed that  Mahesh Manjrekar charged Rs 25 lakh when he hosted Bigg Boss Marathi season 4.
