Stylist Jasmine Jhaveri will tie up with Tranceforme, a home décor store for a workshop on table setting and design. In a quick chat, she lays bare her secret styling tips

Being an interior stylist and having styled homes for over a decade, Jasmine Jhaveri had always considered table design as an integral part of her scope of work. "The Dining table is the heart of the house. It is here, that family and friends can come together to share good times and also create memories. Good food, good ambiance and good design indulge the senses and create great experiences.

Table styling takes hosting and entertaining to the next level and creates a great impression. Table design has a holistic approach in that sense and is vital as it encompasses table setting, table decor and food design," shares Jhaveri. "A good design needs to perform to optimise its given functionality. It should create the wow effect, yet be simple and thorough - down to the last detail," she reminds.

What's in store?
At the workshop, participants can learn how to lay a formal and informal table setting, how to use different props and work with different shapes of tables, along with the basics of high tea - the kind of food that can be served and the order of serving, and techniques of table setting. Jhaveri will also give tips on creating centre pieces that never fail.
