Mumbai food: Post-meal mouth fresheners delivered in quirky boxes

MINT: it was the one thing that Gurgaon-based Archita Jain carried everywhere with her. When she and her friend Arihant Jain were brainstorming on business ideas, they decided to tap into this vast market of people who love mouth fresheners or after- meal digestives. Enter Flurry Box, a monthly subscription service that delivers handpicked mouth fresheners. "We knew this was something people needed on a monthly basis, especially when travelling. My family, too, likes to carry a mint or a mouth freshener with them," reasons Archita, 26.

The quirky cases are designed by Arihant

The one-month-old subscription box offers four such boxes - containing saunf (fennel seeds), candies or toffees and dried paan among other things; the products are free of tobacco. "We all like a bit of sweet after a meal so I thought of adding in candies and flavoured toffees too," she adds. Every month will see something different; at times, based on a theme. In future, they want to add chewing gums too.

The boxes are handy, about the size of a credit card and have quirky, colourful designs - vintage cameras, scooters, motorbikes, flowers and cartoon characters. These are Arihant's handiwork; the idea is to turn them into collectibles.

For now, owing to the cash crunch, there is a delay in the delivery but Archita hopes things will improve by December.
