Gateway of India concert remembers martyrs of 26/11 attacks

Gateway of India will come alive with Indian and Western tunes at a concert that pays tribute to the 26/11 victims

This evening, listen to Western and Indian Classical sounds with a patriotic flavour as some of the leading names in music come together to pay a tribute to the martyrs of 26/11 Mumbai blasts that left an indelible scar on the city in 2008.

Organised by Diplomatic Community of Mumbai in association with Orionstar Events and Luke Kenny's Kenny Media, the event will begin with a peace walk from Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus to Gateway of India.

Later, singers like Purbayan Chatterjee, Mahalaxmi Iyer, Luke Kenny, Shriram Iyer, Kavita Paudwal, Suphala Patankar and Vikram Hazra will take to a stage erected at the monument.

The line-up also includes a performance by Shillong Chamber Choir. "There are no tickets for this event. We've started a crowdfunding activity and those who wish to support can contribute on www.dreamwallets.com," informs Hemant Amrute, one of the organisers.
