Mumbai is the top hub for India’s most influential women: Report

As a part of the 2025 Candere Hurun India Women Leaders list released today, it also showcases a significant representation of young leaders across all nine categories

India is a thriving country for business that has many leaders coming from many different cities rise and showcase their business acumen. This is not only among men but also among women, who are showcasing their expertise in previously male-dominated fields, as well as those that have been dominated by business families for a long time.

According to a new report, Mumbai, the business capital of India, leads the list as the top hub for India's most influential women in the country. The insights released in the 2025 Candere Hurun India Women Leaders report highlighted.

The list, which features 97 women leaders across five core pillars of the Indian economy, was released on June 4, and has some interesting insights apart from the likes of Roshni Nadar and Shraddha Kapoor among others who top the list.

Interestingly, beyond the city, the average age of the women on the list is 51 years. On the other hand, 25 per cent of the women featured in the list are aged between 26 and 35 years, reflecting a significant representation of young leaders across all nine categories.

The categories are professionals, first-generation wealth creators, next-generation leaders, investors, philanthropists, young women leaders, artists, most-followed influencer founders and most-followed celebrity investors.

At the undergraduate level, Delhi University (13) and Mumbai University (9) are the most represented institutions on the list. At the postgraduate level, Harvard University (5) and Stanford University (4) are the most represented global institutions by those featured in it.
