Prateek Kuhad releases third studio album 'Full Moon Chamber'; here's all you need to know about it

Returning with his third full-length album, Indian singer-songwriter Prateek Kuhad released 'Full Moon Chamber' this July, four years after 'The Way That Lovers Do' (2022) and more than a decade after 'Tokens & Charms' (2015).

Written and recorded between New York and Los Angeles, the 14-track album explores love, identity and belonging.

Elaborating on the album, Prateek Kuhad said, "This album captures a period of change in my life. My mental and emotional state shifted a lot during this time, and that naturally found its way into the music. The first half of the album carries some of that uncertainty and turmoil, while the second half feels more settled. A lot changed for me personally, and in the music world around me as well. But through it all, I found a part of myself that I had lost. The album follows that journey."

Songs in 'Full Moon Chamber'

Over the past few months, listeners have already been introduced to the world of Full Moon Chamber through 'Blush' and 'If I Cannot Be Yours'. While 'Blush' captures the excitement and infatuation that comes with falling for someone new, 'If I Cannot Be Yours' sits at the centre of the album's emotional tension, exploring the fear of losing your sense of self within a relationship.

The album gradually moves into a more settled and hopeful space with songs such as 'You Make It Easy', before concluding with 'Moonlight Serenade', a track written, produced and mixed entirely by Kuhad at his home studio in Los Angeles.

Recorded over several years with multiple producers, 'Full Moon Chamber' was brought together by co-producer Nick Ruth (Carly Rae Jepsen, Zara Larsson), who helped unify the album's sound.

Reflecting on the process, Kuhad shares, "I had recorded these songs over time with a number of different producers at their studios. The songs were great, but there was a certain disconnect. That's where Nick played a huge role. He's great at shaping songs. We spent a lot of time swapping out small parts, re-recording my vocals, and really perfecting the songs. It was important for me to make sure everything felt connected while still preserving the essence of each song, and Nick was instrumental in making the album sound cohesive."
