Known for its recognisable blue colour that is synonymous with Mother Mary, many different elements of the church are now an earthy hue that make it look extremely inviting, and like many other churches in the city

Every year the inner sanctum with Mother Mary’s statue is decorated beautifully with different kinds of flowers. 

While last year, the flowers were pink and white, the sanctum, which has been painstakingly restored by Vasai’s Sequeira Brothers this year, had a beautiful mix of yellow and pink flowers surrounding the statue which had 'Happy Birthday Mama Mary' glowing through it

It was no different for the statue of Mother Mary opposite the church, which was adorned in a garland of red, white and pink flowers along with sparkly festoons that welcomed visitors praying for a house, as they fixed locks to the gate

Even the statue of Jesus on the Holy Cross was decorated with a garland of red, yellow and white flowers as candles burned below, while people prayed on their way up Mount Mary Basilica's steps
