Many devotees arrived at the revered Kashi Vishwanath Temple in Varanasi on the occasion of the first ‘somwar’ of Shravan

People carried metal pots filled with holy water and proceeded towards the Kashi Vishwanath Temple for ‘Jalabhishek’ to mark the occasion

Long queues of devotees were also seen at Mankameshwar Temple in Prayagraj

People also offered prayers to Lord Shiva at other temples in Prayagraj

Baba Baidyanath Dham in the Deoghar district of Jharkhand witnessed a huge influx of devotees, who gathered there to offer prayers and seek blessings of Lord Shiva

The spiritual fervour could also be seen in Jammu as people offered prayers at Aap Shambhu Temple

Devotees took a holy dip in the Ganga river in Patna on the occasion of the first Monday of Shravan
