Face up to the heavy downpour in style

New raincoats or umbrellas, plastic footwear and if you had good results to brag over, a shiny new bag. School-bag buying days long gone, the glee of buying new umbrellas remain.

Spectacle print umbrella available on Inonit and Kerala-inspired umbrella by India Circus

I spotted several interesting options, like this spectacle print umbrella that compliments our taxis (Rs 799, shop.inonit.in).

India Circus also has a few zany, geometric prints but my favourite is this Kathakali-face umbrella (Rs 1,299, indiacircus.com), bang on the black-and-white colour combination trend.

Also worth a dekko are umbrellas by The Bombay Store (Rs625 onwards) with kitschy Indian prints. If you have extra dough, check out the transparent umbrella by Marc Cain (Rs 5,900) with a doodle print or the ones with Swarovski-encrusted handles at the Anemos store in Lower Parel.
