Academic freedom should be all about opting for a course of your choice, and no one else's. There should be no examination or interview to get into any college or university: being judgmental isn't fair. We also need more universities.
Akansha Kalra, first year B Com student at Kirori Mal College

There is already too much academic independence in our country. I want some of this freedom to be curtailed. One important step is to stop brain drain. Respecting a free country's resources is the first step to all freedom.
Pushpa Sinha, final year B Com student at Hansraj College

There should be CCTV cameras installed inside every classroom to keep vigil. It might check one's immediate freedom, but will only ensure it later.
Prajakta, language student at JNU

The curriculum should be designed such that students enjoy it, and attending classes should be made a matter of free will.
Shadab Ali, Final year MBA student from Melbourne University

Bunking should be made legal, so free time is used fruitfully, without fear. Also, there are many subjects in any course that students don't want to pursue in future; these should be scrapped
Binit Kumar Mishra, first year MA (English) student, IGNOU

Better technology will set us free of unnecessary hassle and burden.
Vivek Kumar, IIT, Delhi
