Speaking about band and their music, Vatayan shares, "We wanted to find the right kind of people for the band. And in Sattva, we do not stick to a set format. We aim at making music that touches people's heart and soul." According to Vatayan, composing music comes naturally to them and when they meet they only create music. "Sometimes, when we jam, it continues like a river flowing. We are in the process of fixing our songs," explains Vatayan.
This gig is even more special admits Vatayan as they have Derek on board. "I heard him some 10 to 15 years back, and was mesmerised by the way he plays. He is technically sound and is an artist to whom music comes naturally. I performed with him once, and realised I have to play with him again," shares Vatayan.
Sattva, an instrumental band, features musicians from different musical backgrounds, and each musician retains his original style. Among, who has played with Agnee and Gary Lawyer says, "I play with other bands, but that is their music which I play. In Sattva, I get to express my individual style." The members of this band only hope that the music strikes a chord with the audience. So, head to Swig to enjoy some original instrumental music.
