Given the rising smog and pollution levels in the city, not to mention the relentless heat, what better time than now to head for a de-tan facial!
And so the chic little salon on Linking Road, Tress Talk, was my destination.
Once there, I was taken inside one of the cosy rooms and made to lie down on a massage bed (sheer bliss!) and relax.

Avantika tries the caviar de-tan facial at Tress Talk in Bandra. |
First, my face was rinsed with a seaweed cleanser: great for blackhead and acne-prone skin, informed the beautician.
The cleanser was cooling and the mild tingling sensation was suggestive of some serious decontaminating action.

The cleanser was later wiped off with a sponge, leaving my skin feeling squeaky-clean.
A crash course in caviar's mild and nourishing properties being ideal for sensitive skin, helped me mentally prepare for the luxury delicacy to get slapped on my face.
Before applying the caviar facepack, the beautician deftly massaged in a mild whitening cream, which was meant to mix with the caviar and moisturise the skin.
She then delicately painted my face and neck with caviar goop, using a large, soft blush brush.
The caviar facepack felt smooth, but smelt horribly pungent; if you've got a sensitive nose you might want to give this treatment a miss.
The pack felt a little itchy at first, but it was healthy itchiness the kind that accompanies a good, hard, cleansing.

After about 15 minutes, the beautician wiped the pack off, applied a liberal amount of moisturiser, and I was good to go.
Did I look any fairer after the treatment? Hard to say.

Although I did surface feeling relaxed and rejuvenated. Verdict? Definitely stop by Tress Talk if you want a rejuvenating facial, but give the caviar treatment a miss and save some serious dough.
