With the Western world still reeling from the aftershocks of 2008's economic quake, several companies that manufactured everything from cushion-covers, bedspreads, furniture and linen for foreign brands, have turned their attention homewardu00a0-- Love from India, a store at Warden Road, is the most recent example of this trend.

Having exported their garments to malls in the US and Europe for over 25 years (under the label Aloka Exports), the company has opened its doors to Indian clientele with this split-level flagship store at Warden Road and proprietors also have plans to market their brand at outlets of major department stores here.

Presently, the range is limited to kurtis (variants include a design with a pinched waist and another with a figure-flattering tapered cut), tunics, which are longer kurtis, buttoned shirts and embroidered dresses (flared kurta-tops sold without churidars) as well as scarves and handbags. Plain and printed cotton, polyester and silk are chiefly what they work with, but polyester scarves mimic a cashmere-like softness (all scarves are priced at Rs 750 each). There's also a small array of costume jewellery on sale.

Available in sizes ranging from S to XL, everything is stitched out of 50 prints. So, it's not uncommon to find bags, scarves and blouses that match. And, as each purchase comes with a fortune-tag, buy one and you might just be destined to find true love.u00a0
